The operation went well and with a sigh of relief and much needed reason for her tears to rid her of all the stress, did they visit White Blaze. The horse was calm and resting, Jaden was a bit upset about his friend not accepting the sugar lumps but only after Jason explained that the anesthetic made him feel a bit groggy did he relax . Leaving a gentle kiss on the ponie’s muzzle did he allow his mom to lead him away.
Jason’s hand on her arm stopped her for a moment.
“You two wanna grab some pizza and a movie tonight?”
Megan had to tell her son about his dad..
“Uum..Jason..I don’t think…”
“Pleeeaaasseee mom, could we please?”
Jon’s stunning blue eyes pleaded at her and she sighed, it was like living with a ghost!
“Well, ok but it has to be the early show.”
He squeezed her hand, winking at her playfully.
“Let me grab my goat and we can go.”
They went to the usual pizza hangout and Megan could only stare in disbelief in how much pizza two people could gobble down. Jason and Jaden were almost rolling out the little place and Megan giggled at their uncomfortable faces.
“That’s what happens when you eat like pigs!”
They decided to see Casper and what fun packed movie it was!
“Geesh boys if I don’t run to the little girl’s room right now, there is gonna be some big trouble! Will you hold my phone Jaden, Ill be back in a few.”
Just as women do best, Megan stayed away for ages. Her phone started ringing.
“You gonna answer that buddy?”
“I don’t know who it is! I’ll just tell them mom is busy and will call them back. Hello, Jaden speaking.”
Jon warmed at his son’s young voice. He felt the tiredness draining from his bones as smiled at the cheerful background. They were obviously having fun or celebrating so Blaze must be ok.
“Hey sport! Jon here! How ya doing? How is Blaze?”
“Jon! I’m great and Blaze in just wonderful, he didn’t want to eat the lumps though but Jason said its normal and that the ane….. anesthetetics….. anesthetics”
Jon heard a male voice coaxing him with the word and he felt his blood boil.
“I’m so glad he is doing fine. Maybe tomorrow he’ll take a lump or two huh? Now tell me where is your mom?”
“Oh mom went to the toilet and we’ve been waiting for aaagggeeess for her!”
“I take it you and Jason huh? “
“Yeah! We had the greatest time. We had some pizza and saw Casper. It was so cool!”
Jon gritted his teeth and it took all his willpower to keep his voice light.
“Well if that mom of your ever make it out of the toilet, tell her I called ok, bud?”
“Sure thing! How was the show tonight?”
He was interested in his day!
“The usual. I wish you were here to see it, that would have been much more fun! Maybe I can still convince your mom to bring you to see the last show, whaddya think?”
“REALLY??!!!! Oh that will rock! Will you ask her..wait here she is you can ask her now! Ok Jon bye!”
She could see Jaden talking on her phone and the closer she got the more excited he became, when she reached him he was shrieking and doing his little hops. She heard Jon’s name and her heart flipped.
She took the phone from him.
“I’ll meet you two by the car,k?”
