Chapter 173

For two days Megan and Jon hid away from the world. Nights were filled with white hot passion, days were filled with long walks on the beach, swimming and long talks about sweet nothings. Jon’s stay was drawing to a close and they both felt the disappointment rising. Neither of them wanted to step out of this little private haven they’ve been living in.
The night before Jon was due to leave, they took their last intimate stroll on the lonely beach. They were watching as the waves rolled in, she was encircled by his strong arms, his head resting intimately on her shoulder, both silent.
“I have something to give you before I go.”
“Oh? Another present? Haven’t you bought enough already?”
“This is not a present, this is a symbol of our love and my unwavering devotion to you. I want the whole world to know how I feel and to scream to them that you are taken.”
Swinging her around , he took her face in his hands.
“I love you Megan Lyons. I’ve loved you since the day you walked into that room having a hard time keeping the food tray up. You just did something to me. You tore me apart, I agonized over you, wanted you , not wanting you, knowing that you were still so young and innocent.I hated myself for denying you your first time, that night in my car but I told myself I was protecting you. I tried to be the responsible adult but hell baby I almost killed myself! That night when you barged into my kitchen, eyes wide with fear, my heart stopped beating and my mind stopped thinking completely.  I took what you offered so sweetly, I made you mine. When you ran away, I hated you. After the pain came the understanding. You were too young for me. You had so much going for you and I..I was just a rocker just starting up. I saw you in the hospital before you did, only I didn’t know that it was you and when I saw you in the room, everything suddenly seemed brighter. The old feelings sprouted again but this time you weren’t a child anymore but a beautiful woman in her own right. The shock and joy sicovering that I had a son with you, I can’t even begin to explain. That’s when I knew this was destiny, you and I.  See Megan without knowing, you controlled my world. You were all I ever needed and still need. So you see you have to marry me and love me and bare my kids. No one will ever make me as happy. No one but you.”
Megan was crying, but the tears were tears of joy. Jon bared his heart to her, laying it out on his sleeve.
All those lonely, painful years without him seemed to melt away into mist, there was only here, now. Him holding her telling her how much she meant to him.
“No tears baby, please.” The moon kissed the wet trail down his cheeks.
“God Jon!” She buried her face in his chest, holding onto his shoulders.
She felt him move. Sliding down onto one knee he took her left hand with his the other hand displaying the ring.
“Will you be mine forever?” The ring poised at her finger.
Not trusting her voice she nodded.
The coldness of the platinum warmed her soul.
His eyes shone like jewels in the dim light, the smile on his face was shaky and emotions etched on his handsome features.”
Bowing down he placed a kiss on the ring. Megan’s hand brushed through the shining mane, her heart full to capacity.
Taking both his hands, she pulled him upwards and towards her.
“It’s beautiful. I love you Angel. Always did and always will.”
His lips brushed hers.
“I’ll keep you to that. There’s no turning back.”
“I don’t want to…ever.”
She closed the little space between their lips, touching his, her tongue traced the outline, taunting it to open. The gentleness and love poured into the kiss caught Megan’s breath in her chest. Jon quivered against her, his emotions gushing like a river in full flood. The woman in his arms was his whole world and she just painted his world in gold.
“Let’s go home.”
The promise in her eyes set his pulse racing and he felt the slow familiar warm curl of heat settling in his stomach.
