Chapter 97

It was getting dark when they eventually opened the front door. They were just ready to eat supper when the doorbell rang.
Megan opened it and stared confused at the stranger at her door.
“Good evening. Are you Miss Lyons?”
“Yes I am.”
He held out his hand, in it was an envelope.
“I’m acting as Mr. Bongiovi’s lawyer.”
She took the white envelope with a shaky hand,  closed the door and stared at the paleness of the paper, too scared to open it.
Hiding it in her closet, she went back to eat her supper.
By the time Jaden went to bed she was a bundle of nerves. Jon’s lawyer, this couldn’t be good.
Ripping the envelope she sat on the bed, the words swimming before her eyes.
How could he? How was she going to fight this? Oh my God!
The letter served to inform her that if she fails to move in at the mansion, that he will fight her in court to take full custody of Jaden! If she agrees to move in she will be well looked after as well as Jaden.
The bastard!!! How could he! She knew he was too quiet!!! DAMN HIM TO HELL!
~~
Jon didn’t sleep a wink. He had a headache from hell and he just received the call a few hours ago that his lawyer had delivered the letter by hand.
Why didn’t she call?
He was leaning on the couch, tablets in one hand and a glass of water in the other. He had to get rid of this damn headache seeing as they had a show tonight.
He just washed down the tablets when his phone started ringing.
“Aaahh..here we go.”
“Hello Megan.”
“Why are you doing this Jon?” she was on the brink of tears, he could tell and to be honest it ripped his guts from him, but he needed to make sure that his son will live under his roof.
“You didn’t afford me the time to explain, so why should I explain now?”
He was anything but friendly. His voice sounded tired.
“Did you have to bring in the damn lawyers?”
“You ran again and frankly honey, I’m sick and tired of running after you. So now we do it my way or not at all.”
“You’re a bastard.”
“For wanting my son with me? Thanks then I’ll be a bastard hundred times over. So lets cut to the chase, what’s it going to be. The easy way or the hard way?”
“There is no easy way. We’ll move in Jon, but I hate you for forcing this on me.”
“Honey there is so many things I could hate you for. So your hatred is the least of my worries right now….Does Jaden know?”
“No.”
“When are you going to tell him.”
“Whenever I wish.”
She hated the sarcastic laugh in her ears.
“Why don’t you just admit defeat.”
A thought crossed her mind and her lips formed the words  before she could stop it. She wanted to piss him off real good!
“Just know Jon. Although I might be staying in your house, I will still be seeing other people. I will not be treated like a child. Jason will be visiting and you better treat him well.”
Jon had to count to ten and back, breathing slowly as to prevent him screaming in her ear. His voice was sweet as honey but if she saw his white knuckles gripping the phone she would have swallowed her words.
“You’re a big girl right? I can’t decide who you’re gonna screw next, as long as its not under my roof, you can do as you please.”
“I’m glad we are clear on that. Goodbye Jon.”
He stopped her before she slammed the phone down.
“How is Jaden?”
“He is fine, he saw Blaze today and we will go see him as soon as the op is done and he is awake.”
“Ok then see you at our place in a week.”
“Your place Jon, never mine.”
The click of the phone in her ear was like a slap in the face. The audacity of the man! He didn’t even give a rat’s ass about her seeing other people! Oh well maybe it was for the best. Jaden like Jason anyway. Now to get over the next hurdle, telling Jaden who his father was.
