Chapter 117

Consciousness invaded his mind and his hand instinctively reached for the warm body he knew should be there. All he touched was coldness. The only evidence of their passionate night together, the dented pillow and her scent in his bed.
For once he wished he could wake up with her in his arms again. Her naked body curled into his, her face buried in his chest. Her hair spread over his pillow, her pink sleepy face smiling up at him. Fuck!
Throwing the covers off of him with more violence that he meant he got out of bed, hitting the shower to try and get his mind clear for the day. Megan’s parents were arriving today and he haven’t even discussed it with Megan but he had decided to make the couple an offer they wont be able to refuse.
Dressing quickly he made his way to the diningroom. His tummy was rumbling and in serious need of food and a huge pot of strong caffeine.
Megan was busy with her own breakfast and a Richie chattering and being the usual clown. Their eyes met and he didn’t miss the feint pink in her cheeks. She looked like a woman that was thoroughly been made love to and even Richie didn’t miss it.  Flicking a look towards Jon he knew he was right. Jon had that laid back look on his face and his eyes were a totally different shade of blue. Richie snickered and both heads turned his way.
Jon’s eyes narrowed.
“What you snorting about?”
“Nothin’. Did you have a good night? Megan said she sure did.”
For Jaden’s sake did Jon answer politely but he his eyes had a totally different message.
Jon raked an amused expression over Megan.
“Oh she did, huh?”
“Guys…I’m actually sitting right here and…” directing towards Jaden.
Richie winked at her and the scorching look she received from Jon turned her stomach to jelly.
What a night it was. She still had some sensitive reminders. Her nipples tightened unexpectedly. Jon’s trained eyes didn’t miss a thing and he flashed her a sexy ass grin, letting her know that he knew where her mind was dwelling.
It was almost lunch when Megan’s parents arrived. Megan felt jittery and unsure about Jaden’s first meeting with his grandfather and hoped to God her father would treat him appropriately. She hadn’t said anything about the thing with her father to Jon. She just didn’t have the strength to do anymore explaining.
Megan stepped out, Jaden close to her side. Her father got out of the car, he was still leaning on a cane but had a well rested, rosy look on his face. Helping her mother out, they both turned to meet the party waiting anxiously for them.
“Grandma !” Jaden rushed to the woman’s side, embracing her.
“My boy ! My but you have grown up! Let me look at you!”
Megan watched her father. Emotions flickered across his face, his hand shaking lightly on the cane.
Jon saw the strained look on Megan’s face and followed her gaze. Something was amiss, what it was he wasn’t sure but he could tell by her coiled body that she was really nervous.
“Hello daddy.” She hugged him close to her, feeling his mouth in her hair.
“He is such a handsome boy!”
“Thank daddy.”
The old man reached for Jon.
“Jon.”
They hugged as always, feeling confused by the old man hugging him longer than usual he just stood still, giving him the time he needed.
He stepped back.
“How was the vacation.  Any beautiful  girls there old man?”
His eyes widened, nodding enthusiastically.
“And them some! “
Mary settled her hand on her husband’s arm.
“He almost had a second heart attack the poor man!  I didn’t do too bad either.”
Jon cracked at her guilty blush, throwing his head back in pleasure, roaring.
“So I take it you BOTH had a good time. I’m glad!” He stood with his hands  resting on his hips, a mischievous twinkle in his eye.
Mary blushed guiltily. Everyone roared again.
“I’m not died yet! Oh shush!”
Jon hugged her to him.
“So glad to hear it darlin’!”
The moment everyone except Jon was waiting for settled over the small party. Jaden had been watching his grandfather while everyone was joking around, a man he didn’t now at all.
Patrick became aware of the boy’s curious eyes on him and turned towards him. His heart was pounding, an electric shock sizzled through him as he met his grandson’s electric blue eyes. Splitting image of his father!  Silence seemed to smother  them. Megan watched anxiously. Jon didn’t have a clue what was happening but he knew it was heavy. He was so out of the picture it wasn’t even funny!
The cane clicked forward, stopping in front of Jaden.
“Hello son.”
“Hello…” he wasn’t sure how to address the total stranger. Everyone was so plastered to their spots that no one even seemed to notice the boy’s predicament.
Lifting his head proudly he held out his hand towards the old man. A wrinkly hand reached towards it, dwarfing it as it enveloped it completely.
Megan stepped towards her son’s side. The look in her father’s eyes sends a sigh of relief through her. She could see in his aged eyes how proud he was at that moment and that was enough for her.
Realizing his son had just met his grandfather for the first time, Jon frowned. Something was going on. Why the fuck did Megan not trust him enough to tell him this? Swallowing his fury he forced a false smile.
“Well why don’t we go inside. I think lunch is ready.”
Everyone motioned towards the door.
Marry chattering away, telling Jaden how much she missed him. Patrick walked behind them, a misty look in his eyes. Megan smiled until her eyes met Jon’s accusing stare. Holding his hand out in silence he directed her to walk first, the warmth is his eyes were now shards of ice. An uneasy feeling gnawed at her, sure that Jon’s eyes was boring into her back.
