Chapter 42

Richie could tell as the miles flew by, Megan’s excitement was heightening.
She didn’t want to share it with him and he wasn’t going to pry.
She directed him towards a beautiful old house.
Megan leaned towards him and pecked him on the cheek.
“Sunday about 1’o clock right?”
“That’s what I said.” She didn’t invite him in. “Well see you Sunday then.”
Just as she opened the gate and elderly woman came walking out.
“Aren’t you going to invite your friend in? “
“I think he is in a hurry.”
Richie’s curiosity was tickled and he opened the door.
“I’m in no hurry. Hi I’m Richie.” He shook the woman’s hand.
“I’m Jean. Come in and I’ll make you some coffee.”
Megan was on edge and every few minutes she stared at the clock against the wall.
“I hope you don’t mind me asking , but are you a relative of Mary? I can see some resemblance. ”
“Yes, I am. I am her older sister.”
“So this is where you ran to all those years ago, sweetheart?”
“Yes.”
The door burst open and a little boy came running in.
“You’re here! You’re here!”
Megan jumped up and the boy ran into her arms, she kneeled down and hugged him to her.
“I missed you! Oh you have grown so big! What is auntie Jean feeding you?”
Richie sat confused on the couch.
What the hell?
“Jaden I want you to meet someone. This is Richie.”
The little boy turned and Richie lost his ability to breath and speak all at once.
He walked up to the man, holding out his hand.
“Hello Richie. I am Jaden.”
Richie stared at the young boy’s open face.
“Hello Jaden. Nice to meet you buddy.”
Megan’s eyes pleaded with him. She realized that the puzzle had fallen into place the moment he saw the boy’s face.
Jon’s blue eyes was staring back at him .
