Megan brushed lightly over the white satin. This was her and Jon’s wedding day. Sometimes she felt the need to pinch herself to make sure all this was real.
Watching her profile in the mirror she smiled at her rounded stomach. She was growing by the day and as everyday passed she knew the baby was getting closer to meeting the world. Only four months to go!
The thought of her growing baby brought the other baby to mind, Jon and Dorothea’s. She was now just passed the 14th week mark, making the pregnancy less risky. She will never forget Jon’s face as he came home from their doctor’s appointment. Dorothea was expecting a little boy. Jon was beside himself from happiness. Something inside Megan gnawed at her but she brushed it aside and tried as hard as she could to be happy and share this moment with her man.
“My sweet baby girl!”
Megan turned to find a very emotional dad staring at his only child in her wedding outfit.
“Daddy.”
She reached out towards him and he closed the space between them, kissing her softly on the forehead.
“You are a vision Sweetheart!”
Megan felt the quiver in his hands and saw the tears brimming his eyes.
“Thank you daddy. Mom please stop crying, you’re gonna make me cry and then?”
She smiled at her sniffing mother, trying to ascertain how hard it must be to give your daughter away to another man.
“Oh! You look so lovely. I cant believe you’ve grown up so quickly! My baby is a woman now! It’s almost time, don’t stay to long now!”
She knew father and daughter would like a few moments alone and closed the door softly behind her.
Her father’s dark eyes, so like her own, studied his daughter’s face.
“I was such a fool all those years ago. If I haven’t interfered Jaden would have known his father from birth. I tried to change fate and thank heavens it wouldn’t let me. I can see now how much you and Jon love each other. I don’t think you could have chosen anyone better. I love you Meg and I hope you will have a happy marriage.”
He leaned forward and kissed his daughter again, hauling her in for a hug.
“This means so much to me, thank you daddy.”
Megan fought hard to hold back the tears.

Jon looked up at the sky. The weather was superb, a slight breeze lifted his hair from his face and he closed his eyes for a moment, breathing the salty air, letting the sound of the ocean calm his nerves.
A slight smile tipped his lips as he thought to himself. Nerves? You can sing in front of thousands but now you choose to get nervous?
A slight nudge halted his thoughts and his eyes opened.
“Don’t fucking faint on me bro’. This is not the time!”
Richie smiled at his best friend. The nerves were chewing at his friend’s ass, he could tell.
“I’m not nervous..ok fuck I am! I’m getting married my brother, married!”
“Oh so is this what is going on here?! Shit I thought it was a get together or something.” He gave the nervous, blue eyed man a slap on the shoulder.
‘Oh fuck off and die.” He flashed his pearly whites.
Richie admired his outfit, marveling at the cool breeze lifting his shirt from his skin.
“I must say. I’m impressed with our outfits. When you asked me to be your best man all I could see was tuxes and nipping shoes. Now this I like.”
Jon snorted as he inspected the casual dress of Richie, exactly the same as his own. Loose linen shirt, only the last button buttoned up, a pair of casual black pants, rolled up to just above the ankle, no shoes. This wasn’t the usual wedding attire alright, but the venue wasn’t the usual as well and the woman he was going to marry, unique!
“She knew you couldn’t button up a shirt even if your life depends on it.”
Richie chuckled.
“That might just be it then although my thoughts were more to what she wanted to see when she marries you.”
He flicked his head towards Jon’s open shirt.
Jon threw his head back and laughed.
“Hell I didn’t even think of it, sneaky woman!”
“She has a major thing for that fur man! Ugh” Richie feigned a shiver.
“Luckily she has to like it not you. What do you call that anyway, your sorry excuse for puberty?”
Richie rubbed over his hairy nipples.
“The chicks dig it my man. I have other things to keep them occupied with.” He waggled his eyebrows at Jon.
“You sure you don’t scare them into immobility? Cause what I’ve seen, shit it scares the hell outta me!”
Richie slapped him on the back, a huge smile played over his features.
“I know how to use it bro’ its all in the rythm.”
“Too much information! Can we talk about something else now?”
“Sorry bro’ talking is over.” Richie nodded towards the beach.
Sitting atop a huge white stallion, Megan made her way slowly towards them. Everyone stood up in awe at the beautiful picture she made. Plain white satin dress, bare feet ,long shiny curls hanging down, dancing slightly in the breeze, tiny white flowers decorated atop her head. She was breathtaking!
Jon stood frozen at the spot, a lump had wedged itself in his throat, his eyes felt as if it might pop from its sockets. Feeling his chest ready to explode he remembered to breathe, taking a deep gulp, releasing it slowly.
