Neither of them heard the calling at the kitchen door and then the footsteps up the stairs.
Jon moved from her, drawing her into his embrace, he covered her with the sheet. He was at a loss for words. They couldn’t do this again. This was a huge fucking mistake. God what a fucking idiot he was for taking her innocence. He looked down at her face, she snuggled into the crook of his neck, sleepiness turning her breathing to a slow steady pace.
A movement at the door caught his eye.
The look on the old man’s face will haunt him till the day he dies.
Shock and pain was written all over him.
“Fuck! Partick!”
Megan flew up, clutching the sheet to her nakedness.
“Daddy! Oh God!”
“Don’t take the lord’s name in vain, Megan. Get dressed. I’ll wait for you downstairs.”
Jon was dressed in seconds. Megan was crying, her fingers struggling with the wet clothes.
“I’m so sorry baby. I should have known better! FUCK!!” He stroked her cheek.
“Let me go speak with your dad.”
He found Patrick standing outside staring at the dark clouds.
“Patrick.”
He didn’t turn around.
“How long has this been going on?”
Jon dragged his hand threw his hair.
“It was the first time. Fuck! I don’t know what to say. Sorry will never change it. Just tell me what you want from me, and I’ll do it.”
Patrick’s voice was calm, too calm.
“You took my daughter’s virginity?”
Jon inhaled sharply. He nodded his head..Patrick didn’t turn , Jon’s shaky breath was answer enough.
“I trusted you, Jon.”
Jon came to a standstill in front of the man who’s heart he had just ripped to shreds.
“This was not planned. Please don’t blame Megan. I should have backed off. I should have known better.”
Patrick met his eyes.
“Yes, you should have.”
Megan came out the door, her steps slow and unsure.
“Daddy…”
He didn’t answer her, but started walking, leaving Jon standing there.
“Go with him baby. I’m so fucking sorry!” Jon reached to wipe the tears from her face.
“Megan”
Her dad’s eery calm scared the shit out of her, and she walked towards him when he called her name.
